About the Intensive Mobile Treatment Team

The team provides specialist mental health assessment and intervention for some of the most vulnerable and at-risk young people in our community, as well as their families and support networks. Through a combination of outreach and clinic-based appointments, the team works to provide consistent, coordinated care for young people with complex needs who may be engaged with multiple service systems. You'll be supported through regular supervision, reflective practice and ongoing professional development.

About the role

We are seeking a Mental Health Clinician or Senior Mental Health Clinician to join our Infant, Child and Youth Mental Health Service.

As the Mental Health Clinician, you will manage a designated caseload of young people, providing specialist mental health assessment and intervention to support their mental health and wellbeing. You will work closely with young people, their families and support networks to deliver coordinated, person-centred care.

As the Senior Mental Health Clinician, you will undertake the same core responsibilities as the Mental Health Clinician role, while also providing leadership, guidance and support to junior team members. You will help foster a positive team culture, contribute to clinical excellence and play an important role in supporting the team's ongoing development and success.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • AHPRA registration for Occupational Therapists, Registered Psychiatric Nurses and Clinical Psychologists, or eligibility for membership with AASW for Social Workers.
  • 1-2+ years’ experience for Mental Health Clinicians and 5+ years’ experience for Senior Mental Health Clinicians.
  • Postgraduate clinical experience and/or postgraduate training in child and adolescent mental health or an allied field.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and work in partnership with consumers, carers, families and other service providers.
  • Demonstrated high level of conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role, and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
