About the role

Eastern Health Maroondah Mobile Support Team has three highly valued PSEN roles within the team.

  • The role works to provide treatment of the highest quality, that equitably meets the needs of consumers, families and/or carers.
  • The Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse will provide a high standard of nursing interventions within the multidisciplinary team including, Social Workers, Occupational Therapist, Clinical Psychologist) and Registered Psychiatric Nurses.
  • To provide Recovery orientated interventions within a recovery framework to consumers experiencing mental ill health.
  • Will work alongside the Lived Experience Workforce to delivery consumer focused recovery.  
  • Provide high quality assessment, secondary case management services and assertive outreach support to people experiencing a mental illness that promotes and facilitates recovery.
  • Work within the SECU Diversion Program which provides intensive support to consumers within the team who are identified as benefiting from increased care.
  • Possess knowledge of and the ability to provide effective interventions for consumers with co-occurring mental health and substance use problems (dual diagnosis) as a core component of the clinical role.
  • Promote the principles and practice of service coordination to ensure that consumers are at the centre of service delivery and receive a timely, coordinated response to their health and social needs.
  • Work a rotating roster across a 7-day week, including public holidays.

 

About you 
To be successful in this role you should possess the following:

  • A current annual Registration as a Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse with medication endorsement issued by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APRHA)
  • Demonstrated further professional development in the area of mental health.
  • Sets high standards of performance for self and others.
  • Recent experience working with consumers that have a mental illness.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people with dual diagnosis.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and ability to practice utilising the recovery approach in mental health treatment and support, with a focus on working collaboratively with consumers and carers to promote self determination and enable progress towards reaching personal recovery goals.   
  • Experience in working in partnership with NDIS services, that promotes a spirit of cooperation and collaboration, and respect for each other’s philosophy, priorities, knowledge, skills and experience.
  • Ability to liaise and consult with a broad range of health professionals, community agencies and organisations.
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal) as well as ability too effectively problem solve and negotiate.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Ability to gain an understanding of contemporary Recovery principles.
  • Ability to work under the broad direction of professional staff, supervision of Registered Nurses Division 1, and the ability to work flexibly and effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.


Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role.  An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
