Exciting Opportunity: Research Assistant – Clinical & Social Research
Join a world-leading research team at Turning Point, Australia’s national centre for addiction treatment, training, and research. We are seeking a passionate Research Assistant to support pioneering studies that transform lives.
In this role, you’ll work alongside top researchers on clinical trials, ground-breaking pilot studies, and qualitative research exploring addiction treatment and recovery. Your work will contribute to real-world impact, from testing novel interventions to understanding lived experiences of addiction.

About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- A strong interest in working in alcohol and other drug (AOD) research and/or previous experience working with people with complex needs (e.g., AOD, mental health)
- High level of attention to detail, including accurate scheduling, data collection and record keeping
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team, and to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes
- Demonstrated capacity to adhere to ethical guidelines and project protocols
- Analytic skills, and an ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement
- Computing skills, including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs, statistical analysis software packages (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R, JASP), and the Endnote referencing system.
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
