About the role

Eastern Health’s Infant, Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS) is one of thirteen specialist mental health and wellbeing services in Victoria providing a comprehensive range of inpatient and community based multidisciplinary teams for infants, children and young people up to the age of 25 years and experiencing significant mental health or emotional, behavioural and/or developmental challenges, and their families. 

 

The Outer East Specialist Child Team works to improve the outcomes for infants and children, 0-12 years, and their families, experiencing significant emotional, behavioural or mental health difficulties, alongside a range of vulnerabilities, including trauma and family violence. As a Senior Clinician, you will manage a designated caseload providing mental health assessment and intervention for infants and children under 12 years of age, and their families.   Additionally, you will have a key role in supporting the Team Leader and Team Consultant, to develop and maintain a positive team culture, working collaboratively to deliver high quality clinical care and improved health and wellbeing outcomes for referred children and their families.  The provision of supervision and mentoring of early career clinicians will be an important additional aspect of the role.  You will also provide discipline specific assessment and interventions, where required.  

 

About you 
To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Current Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Registrered Psychiatric Nurse registration with AHPRA; for Social Work, eligibility for membership of AASW 

  • Clinical expertise and experience in infant and child mental health 

  • A strong commitment to high quality care 

  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team 

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills 

  • Experience in parent work and family therapy  

  • Post Graduate qualifications in Family Therapy or Child Psychotherapy is highly desirable  


Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role.  An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
