Senior Mental Health Clinician - Infant, Child, & Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS) 

 

  • Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist or Mental Health Nurse - ICYMHS Team 

  • Grade 3 OT, SW, Clinical Psychologist or RPN4. 

  • Box Hill Community Team 

  • Ongoing Full Time,  Part Time 0.8 EFT and above considered.

About the role

 

Box Hill Community Team is a dymanic team within the Infant, Child, and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS).  The Senior Mental Health Clinician will provide a key leadership role within the multidisciplinary Box Hill Community Team.

 

The Senior Mental Health Clinician will provide high quality mental health assessments, case management, and clinical interventions for children and young people, who present with mental health difficulties, and their families.

 

The Senior Clinician will work in partnership with the Team Leader to provide consistent and effective clinical and operational leadership.  We are looking for a clinician who enjoys supervising, teaching, and mentoring early career mental health clinicians.  The Senior Clinician will support the team to ensuring practice is in line with contemporary, evidenced based mental health models of care and current Victorian State Government initiatives, including the Recovery Framework. 

 

About you 

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess a minimum of five years post qualification clinical experience in child and youth mental health and:

 

  • Current professional registration with AHPRA or AASW, or other relevant body.
  • A demonstrated professional interest in working with children and young people, within the context of their families, who are experiencing significant mental health difficulties.
  • Highly developed skills in interpersonal communication and multi-disciplinary teamwork.
  • A strong commitment to high quality, evidenced based mental health care for infants, children, young people, and their families.
  • The ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proven ability and experience to provide clinical supervision.
  • Excellent communication, organisational skills, and enjoyment of continuous learning.


Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role.  An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
