About the role

 

Eastern Health Homeless Outreach Psychiatric Service (EHOPS) is a well-established multidisciplinary team providing intensive and assertive case management to adults experiencing severe mental ill health. The team delivers both outreach and clinic-based support to consumers and their families, working flexibly to meet people where they are.

We are seeking a Senior Clinician (preferably a Registered Psychiatric Nurse) for a short-term contract to cover maternity leave. This is a great opportunity to join a passionate, supportive, and recovery-focused team dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of people experiencing homelessness and complex mental health needs.

The Senior Clinician role within EHOPS is a highly valued position. You will work in partnership with people with a lived experience of mental illness, their families, and carers, to provide high-quality assessment, intensive case management, and assertive outreach support. Guided by the Collaborative Recovery Model, you’ll play an important role in promoting recovery, independence, and community connection.

 


About you 

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Relevant registrations for your discipline/Current registration with AHPRA or eligible for membership of AASW.
  • A minimum of 5 years clinical mental health experience as a qualified Registered Nurse/ Occupational Therapist/ Psychologist/ or Social Worker in a range of settings. 
  • Sound theoretical knowledge of clinical assessment and interventions in mental health.   
  • Demonstrated commitment to and ability to practice utilising the recovery approach in mental health treatment and support
  • A strong commitment to high quality care
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
     
    Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
