Senior Mental Health Pharmacist

 

  • Senior Hospital Pharmacist Grade 3
  • Full time, fixed term position (Maternity leave cover) until April 2027
  • Responsible for the direction, planning, provision, and review of clinical pharmacy services to the Mental Health Service across Eastern Health.
  • Work with different disciplines & across multiple sites in Eastern suburbs of Melbourne

About the role

 

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Mental Health Pharmacist to lead and advance clinical pharmacy services across our Mental Health Service. The Senior Mental Health Pharmacist is responsible for the direction, planning, provision and review of high-quality clinical pharmacy services across the Eastern Health Mental Health Service. This senior role combines strategic leadership with hands-on clinical practice, ensuring safe, effective and patient-centered medication management across inpatient and community settings.

 

 

About you

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Current and advanced hospital pharmacy experience, including effective clinical pharmacy skills
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of all relevant aspects of hospital pharmacy. In particular, demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA) Guidelines
  • Demonstrate commitment to optimum patient focused care and professional practice
  • Developed staff supervision, interpersonal skills, ability to facilitate open discussion and resolve conflict
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure, to meet time constraints and determine work priorities and a high level of organisational skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, negotiation and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change and quality improvement activities
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to build relationships and work in partnerships
  • Commitment to participate in personal and departmental ongoing professional development, continuing education and peer review. Presentation/poster presented at a ADPHA  or equivalent conference.

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
