Senior Occupational Therapist Grade 3 – Hand Therapy

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with expertise in hand therapy to join our dynamic team at Maroondah Hospital as a Grade 3 Hand Therapist. This position offers the opportunity to provide clinical leadership within a well-established hand therapy service while applying advanced clinical skills across inpatient and outpatient settings.

 

Working closely with the Plastic Surgery team, you will deliver specialised hand therapy services and support the ongoing development and implementation of hand therapy-led clinics. You will partner with the existing Grade 3 Hand Therapist to provide leadership of the hand therapy service, including supporting professional development, clinical supervision, service improvement and quality initiatives. There will also be opportunities to upskill into advanced practice opportunities within hand therapy led clinics as relevant.

About you

The successful applicant will demonstrate professionalism, clinical excellence and consistency of practice in hand therapy. We seek team leaders keen to learn and contribute to health outcomes through participation in quality improvement and evidence based practice activities.

 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Extensive hand therapy clinical experience. 
  • Ability to lead development, implementation and evaluation of models of care, guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the management of acute and chronic upper limb conditions and commitment to ongoing professional development and specialisation.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience, including the ability to lead the development of others.
  • A strong commitment to high-quality care.
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team. 

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role, and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
