Eastern Health

Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a range of emergency, surgical, medical and general healthcare services and have a proud history of serving a diverse community.

Our Employee Value Proposition is “Being a part of Eastern Health means belonging to a welcoming team of healthcare experts”.

This statement aligns with our promise to our communities, patients, consumers and staff that we will be HEALTHIER TOGETHER. Bolder than a vision for the future, our promise calls us to action. We know that working together is the only way we can achieve what is necessary for a healthier future.

About the role

An opportunity exists in the Intensive Care Unit at Angliss Hospital for an experienced nurse leader to step into the Associate Nurse Unit Manager role.

Our ICU provides high level care to patients within a multidisciplinary teaching hospital environment. Much of this care includes support for patients with severe illnesses, complex surgical recovery and need for complex procedures, artificial ventilation and other forms of life support.

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) on our unit, you will join a growing team that goes above and beyond to provide excellent patient care, where we pride ourselves for our strong level of support, roster flexibility, a supportive orientation and great learning opportunities.

About you

We are looking for nurse leaders who are passionate about intensive care, cool under pressure, a multi-tasker, and approachable. You will be confident in managing the unexpected, an excellent communicator, and a highly skilled clinician who can work autonomously and simultaneously be part of a team. Your passion for quality care is demonstrated with a commitment to projects, portfolios or improvement initiatives alongside and leading your peers.

To be successful in this role you need to have:

  • Current valid nursing registration with AHPRA
  • Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care or Intensive Care Nursing
  • Current or recent experience working as an ANUM
  • Availability to work a minimum of 0.6 EFT
  • A willingness to embrace Eastern Health values and contribute to a positive team culture
  • Excellent patient assessment skills and attention to detail
  • Strong commitment to high quality patient care and consumer engagement

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role, and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
