About the role
Eastern Health is seeking an experienced and collaborative Nurse Manager to join our leadership team within the Special Care Nursery (SCN) at Angliss Hospital where up to 2,400 women birth each year.
Angliss Hospital SCN is a level 3, 8 cot nursery, caring for inborn babies from 34 weeks gestation including neonates requiring additional respiratory support via high flow oxygen or CPAP.
SCN relies on close working relationships with our Paediatric, Obstetric, Maternity and Allied Health colleagues including cross site communication with the Box Hill Women and Children team.
The Nurse Manager is responsible for leading the clinical team to ensure effective coordination and efficient management of the nursery. This is a position of clinical leadership and accountability that aligns with Eastern health's clinical governance and operational management structures. Eastern Health is keen to support nurses to work to their full scope of practice by enhancing the clinical capability of our nursing team and maximising bed capacity for sustainability of the unit.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Current Nursing registration with AHPRA
- Post Graduate qualifications in management, leadership or NICU
- Previous leadership experience within a Special Care Nursery setting
- A strong commitment to high quality care and clinical safety
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team and to promote strong interdisciplinary collaboration
- Commitment to shared decision making processes and engaging consumers in their care
- Experience and interest in using improvement methodology to drive positive change
- Ability to advocate for diverse and vulnerable consumer groups
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
