About the role
An excellent opportunity exists for a Physiotherapist within the Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (VPRS) based at Eastern Health. The Physiotherapist will provide assessment and interventions for babies, children and adolescents as part of the multidisciplinary rehabilitation service at Angliss Hospital, Upper Ferntree Gully.
Clinical Experience in paediatric rehabilitation is desirable however please note that the position sits within an experienced multidisciplinary team and so this is an excellent opportunity for a physiotherapist wishing to build skill within this area. The supports that are available include· In person clinical supervision from an experienced paediatric physiotherapist (full day “shadowing” available initially)
· Co treatment sessions with the wider multi- disciplinary team are a regular feature of VPRS practice.
· Access to experienced paediatric physiotherapists at VPRS tertiary sites (Monash/Royal Children’s Hospital) and Angliss/Box Hill Hospital Special Care Nursery
Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service caters for babies, children and adolescents who require specialist rehabilitation for:
· Cerebral palsy tone management/ post intervention management
· Complex rehabilitation e.g. Acquired Brain Injury
· Early support and intervention for children who are diagnosed as at high risk of cerebral palsy
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Eligibility for practicing membership of the APA
- Advanced clinical skills in managing a complex caseload using a client-centred approach.
- High level communication skills, both written and oral.
- Demonstrated capacity to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in supervision of staff and students.
- Commitment to improving own practice and undertaking quality activities.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage a varied caseload with sound computer skills.
- Engagement with own and others well-being.
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
