About the role

An exciting opportunity exists to be part of a well-established and supportive acute and sub-acute team as a Grade 2 Physiotherapist. Based at Angliss Hospital, this role supports the rehabilitation of patients in a mix of acute and sub-acute settings with a focus on care of the older person. You will have the opportunity to keep both your acute and sub-acute skills fresh in this exciting opportunity to work across the bed based continuum.  Additionally, the opportunity to be part of improvement work within the Aged and Complex Care clinical stream with senior support. 

 

The Grade 2 Physiotherapist is responsible for working closely with the multidisciplinary Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) team and acute services maintaining a focus on maximising discharge physical outcomes through individualised management programs for the older person. This role also has the opportunity to provide supervision of undergraduate physiotherapy students with support from the Grade 3 Physiotherapists, as well as supervision of Allied Health Assistants. 

 

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • A recognised tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy 
  • Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)  
  • Meet all the requirements as outlined in the position description roles and responsibilities 
  • Demonstrable experience working in acute and subacute settings with an older adult population 
  • Demonstrated capacity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team 
  • Demonstrated experience in supervision of staff and/or students 
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills, both written and oral 

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
