About the role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Social Worker to join our team. As the Grade 1 Social Worker, you will have relevant hospital experience and be able to work within a strong multidisciplinary team. You will have a good understanding of social work theories and be able to apply them to hospital practice.

 

Using your excellent communication skills, you will collaborate with patients, families, other disciplines, and community stakeholders. This is a fast-paced environment and requires timely and quality discharge planning requiring you to work flexibly, creatively and collaboratively.   

 

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • A degree qualification in Social Work that has been approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) for membership as a practicing Social Worker.  
  • Maintains compliance with the AASW Continuing Professional Development Policy in order to meet the Eastern Health Allied Health credentialing standard.  
  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced health environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of the relevant legislation and frameworks.

 

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
