About the role
Join the Women’s & Children’s Program at Angliss Hospital in a permanent, full-time Grade 2 Social Work position where you can make a meaningful difference to women, children and families. Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, you will provide skilled psychosocial assessment and intervention while supporting patients and families through complex and often significant periods in their healthcare journey.
The role offers diverse and rewarding clinical practice, together with professional Social Work support and opportunities to further develop your expertise within Women’s and Children’s health.
This position involves:
- Providing comprehensive psychosocial assessment and evidence-based Social Work intervention to women, children and families.
- Supporting patients and families experiencing complex psychosocial circumstances through advocacy, counselling, support and care planning.
- Undertaking risk assessment and contributing to safety planning and appropriate referral pathways where required.
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and relevant internal and external services to support coordinated, person-centred care.
- Contributing to ongoing professional practice through supervision, reflective practice, professional development and continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring
- A degree qualification in Social Work that has been approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) for membership as a practicing Social Worker
- Demonstrated Social Work experience and skills in psychosocial assessment, intervention and care planning within a healthcare or related setting
- Demonstrated ability to assess and respond to complex psychosocial needs, including risk and safety concerns, using a person-centred and strengths-based approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with women, children, families and multidisciplinary teams
- Well-developed organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage a varied clinical workload and contribute effectively within a team environment
- A commitment to reflective practice, professional development and the delivery of high-quality, culturally responsive and inclusive care
- Experience within Women’s & Children’s health is highly regarded
- Knowledge of the relevant legislation and frameworks
