About the role

As a Ward Clerk, you play a crucial role in the smooth operation of the Intensive care Unit. You are the administrative backbone, providing essential support to healthcare professionals, patients, and visitors. Your attention to detail, organisational skills, and interpersonal abilities contribute directly to the efficiency and effectiveness of patient care and overall ward management.

 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Customer Service Skills: Demonstrates a friendly, professional demeanour and a commitment to providing excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse range of individuals, including patients, families, medical professionals, and colleagues.

  • Organisational Abilities and Multitasking: Efficiently manages administrative tasks. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritise workload, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting.

  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrates a meticulous approach to tasks, ensuring all aspects are thoroughly reviewed and assessed for accuracy. Consistently produces work that is precise and error-free, with a focus on maintaining high standards of quality.

  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Works well as part of a team, collaborating with healthcare professionals and administrative staff to ensure smooth operations and patient care.

  • Computer Proficiency: Competent in using basic office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of resolving routine administrative issues and responding appropriately to patient inquiries or concerns.

  • Adaptability: Flexible and adaptable to changes in procedures, patient flow, and healthcare regulations.

  • Empathy and Compassion: Demonstrates empathy and compassion towards patients and their families, recognising the sensitivity of their circumstances


Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role.  An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
