About the role
West Ward is an innovative ward with a dedicated mutidisciplinary team working closely with GEM and NDIS patients to provide patient centred care in support of the patients journey back into the community. The Grade 3 Allied Health Assistant role offers a great opportunity to work closely with the Allied Health and broader multidisciplinary team in delivering this care alongside other AHA's with tasks delegated by the Allied Health Professional team members
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Essential:
- Completion of the Certificate 4 (Allied Health Assistant) from a registered training organisation including training modules in one or more of Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, Social Work, Podiatry or undergraduate Allied Health Professional training in one of these professions
- Completion of training modules as an AHA or undertaking of same as an Allied Health Professional student
- Professional student in one or more areas of Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, Social Work, Podiatry
- Well-developed verbal & written communication skills to enable effective liaison with multidisciplinary team including effective clinical handover
- Well-developed clinical competence and sound theoretical knowledge base relevant to the workplace
Desirable:
- Experience either as an AHA or Allied Health Professional student in working in a hospital based or healthcare environment
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
