About the role
West Ward is a great innovative ward with a dedicated team working closely with NDIS patients to provide the care they need while supporting their journey back into the community.
As a Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) you will have a pivotal role in upskilling the workforce to deliver best practice nursing care. You will support pre-registration and post-graduate students, graduates, novice and established nurses, with work including but not limited to liaising with the Student Programs team to facilitate placement rostering and reporting, supporting learner development and wellbeing, working with the Transition to Practice team to support and guide graduates, and collaborating closely with the Nurse Manager to understand and meet the learning needs of the clinical team.
Our CNEs work to develop and deliver teaching, coaching, education and support, enable evidence-based knowledge translation and support a positive workplace culture where team members are committed to lifelong learning. CNEs participate in strategic planning and development activities, collaborate closely with the Learning and Teaching and Clinical teams and strive to embody our values of learning and improving every day, safe always, partnering in care and respect for all.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Essential
- Condition free AHPRA nursing registration
- Relevant postgraduate qualification
- Clinical experience in medical nursing
- Clinical experience with education programs including experience in clinical practice supervision of learners (students, graduates)
- Demonstrated leadership with the ability to inspire, influence and motivate staff and to contribute to and foster a positive learning culture
- Demonstrated organisational and planning skills with strong attention to detail
- Advanced interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication, leadership and conflict management, in order to facilitate effective team functioning
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Desirable
- Leadership / participation in education and research
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Experience in interprofessional education
Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role. An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
