About the role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Grade 3 Occupational Therapist specialising in complex discharge planning for NDIS participants. This senior role focuses on supporting NDIS participants to discharge from hospital, requiring advanced clinical reasoning, high-level coordination, and strong advocacy skills. You will play a critical leadership role in navigating the interface between health and disability systems, within a strong multidisciplinary team, driving solutions to enable safe and timely discharges.
The successful applicant will also be involved in supervising staff and students and service development projects.

AHPRA Registration

Demonstrated clinical expertise in subacute occupational therapy; strong understanding of NDIS processes

A strong commitment to high quality, values-based care

Strong commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork and client centred practice

Advanced skills in clinical reasoning, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and advocacy

A commitment to improving outcomes for diverse and vulnerable populations

Excellent supervision skills

Excellent communication and organisational skills
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role, and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up-to-date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
