About the role
An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative clinician to join our Eastern Health Wantirna team on a fixed term, part time basis. This position will suit a speech pathologist with a relevant clinical background in geriatric evaluation and management (GEM) as well as palliative care services, and demonstrating strong leadership, supervision, communication and quality improvement skills.
You will enjoy a diverse adult caseload managing a range of speech, language and swallowing disorders delivered across the subacute aged and palliative care streams. As part of the multidisciplinary team you will work closely with clients and their families. You will also work as part of the larger Eastern Health speech pathology team and be supported with regular supervision, opportunities for professional development and undertake student supervision, guided by our learning and teaching program. We also offer in-house learning pathways for VFSS, tracheostomy and FEES.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Eligibility for practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia
- Relevant experience in assessment, treatment and management of communication and swallowing disorders in relevant caseloads.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team
- An established track record of highly developed interpersonal skills
- A strong commitment to high quality care in line with Eastern Health values
- Current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
